GEFco Speedstar SS-40K top-head drive drill rig with  40,000 pounds of top-head pullback, and 40,000 pounds of main hoisting capacity (using single sheive with two lines, or 20,000 pound single line).

Please note that the SS-30K DH (Deep Hole) is essentially an SS-40K.

The SS-40K can be built on three axles, or four axles.

Please note*** GEFCO is not currently building this 40,000 pound pull-back rig model, since they build a 30,000 pound pull-back rig, and now a 50,000 pound pull-back rig, and feel that a 40,000 pound pull-back rig would not be necessary.

The standard SS-40K drill comes with a Sullair 1000 CFM x 350 PSI screw type air compressor, powered by a Cat model C-15 525 HP diesel engine in the truck via a PTO drive unit. Other compressor models are available.

The standard drill is mounted on a Peterbilt truck, and is also avaliable with an optional second front steering axle.

The tophead unit retracts to back of the mast for better cable alignment while running casing or tripping out of the hole.

The SS-40K rig has a retracting table platform with various bushings available to center the drill pipe or casings, and to align the retracting fork type breakout wrench.

Other standard features are: Pipe trough, swinging jib boom, single drill rod loader, pipe spinner, water injection pump, hammer oiler, four hydraulic leveling jacks, 6 rod carousel mounted inside the mast, 4.5" x 20' drill rod, hydraulic ram powered breakout wrench, drillers / helpers platform, dust / mud deflector, adjustable holdback and pulldown.

Common options : Casing hammer (SS-40K CH or sometimes called the SS-30K DH-CH), piston or centrifugal type mud pumps,  auxilliary hydraulic connections, 3.5" x 20' drill rod, sand line winch, cat-head, special tool boxes.
